MP Bhat commended Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Minister of Health, Welfare and Medical Education Dr K Sudhaker on behalf of the people for taking the decision to provide better service in the health sector.

The hospital which provided excellent maternity services to poor children was handed over against the rules to private parties during the tenure of the Congress government led by Siddaramaiah. The private parties did not manage the hospital well. The administration of the hospital had deteriorated without paying salaries to staff and without providing proper medical care to patients.

MP K Raghupathi Bhat had relentlessly urged the government to intervene at the departmental level and also in the Vidhan Sabha sessions. Minister Dr Sudhaker had assured to take the appropriate measures.

Chief Minister Bommai, when laying the foundation stone for the upgrade of the 250-bed hospital, promised to take charge and manage the hospital.
