Muzaffarnagar (UP), April 4 (IANS): Muzaffarnagar MRI centers are now under the police radar after a woman filed a complaint that she had her ovaries removed earlier, but a recent MRI report said they would “good” and without “swelling”.
The Chief Medical Officer of Muzaffarnagar said: “We are going to launch a verification campaign to check the unauthorized MRI centers in the district. This is a serious issue as the MRI center has issued a wrong report. An investigation was ordered on the matter.”
Shocked by the report, the woman and her husband went to police claiming that a renowned pathology lab in the city was committing fraud with patients.
“I had my ovaries removed a few years ago. So how come they’re fine and showing up in the MRI report? It’s fraud,” victim says .
She also alleged that when she objected to the report, path lab staff members misbehaved with her.
Civil Lines Police have now opened an investigation into the matter.
City circle officer Kuldeep Singh told reporters that “we have received a complaint and an investigation is ongoing. Action will be taken accordingly.”
According to Gulzar Mirza, the victim’s husband and journalist for a Hindi daily in Muzaffarnagar: “When I complained about the report, the staff offered to do an MRI again, but I refused. on my cell phone, they snatched my phone away and pushed and dragged me. They also behaved badly with my wife.
