Mangaluru February 14: A video has surfaced on social media with content reflecting issues on the Hijab line, claiming it was an incident at a private college in the city.

Police Commissioner N Shashikumar, in a video message, denied the occurrence of the widely publicized incident in Mangaluru. The video that surfaced on social media does not belong to Mangaluru city police boundaries and belongs to another part of the state, he clarified.

“The perpetrators took the referral from a private college and other reputable colleges in Mangaluru. The student community, organizations, citizens, parents, educational institutions, leaders of various organizations and political parties cooperated to ensure that such incidents are avoided. I appeal to the people of the Mangaluru City Police Station not to be carried away by these fake videos and false information. Peace reigns and it will remain so. I call all students, parents and citizens to cooperate with the police department and the district administration to ensure that peace prevails,” Shashikumar appealed.
