Mangaluru, July 26: Students pursuing undergraduate courses were back to take classes after the city’s colleges reopened on Monday, July 26.

Earlier, Mangalore University (MU) vice-chancellor Professor PS Yadapadithaya said students will be allowed to attend colleges from Monday and hostels will also remain open. He said, however, that with student unions urging the university to allow preparation for semester exams, the exams will take place as a priority. Therefore, the physical classes will take place from August 16.

Students can come to colleges to clarify their questions or doubts about the exams from Monday. The postponed diploma exams for the first, third, fifth and seventh semesters will take place from August 2 and for the first and third semesters of postgraduate courses from August 5. The university’s Registrar (Administration) Professor Kishore Kumar also said that students have had time to prepare for the exam from July 26 to August 4.

As colleges reopen, college buildings, main entrances, washrooms, and all other rooms, including furniture and other equipment, are sanitized. Teachers, students, and other college staff should have received at least one dose of the vaccine. Teachers, students and other staff with symptoms of Covid infection are required to undergo coronavirus tests according to the advice of medical advisers.
