‘KGF Chapter 2’ mania grips Karnataka, police resort to lathi charge to control Yash fans

Bangalore, April 14 (IANS): Southern film fever ‘KGF Chapter 2’ has gripped Karnataka as thousands of Rocking Star Yash fans flock to theaters to celebrate the release of the most anticipated pan-Indian Kannada film on Thursday.

However, as celebrations near single-screen theaters created a festive mood in the state, police struggled to control crowds during fan shows that began at 1 a.m. in the state at small Thursday hours.

Police had to resort to lathicharge in many districts of North Karnataka to control fans who came in large numbers to watch their favorite star Yash who has become an all-India superstar.

Those who watched ‘KGF Chapter 2’ lined up to rewatch the film. They explained that the film takes audiences to a different world than KGF Chapter 1 and the journey is to be experienced in theaters.

They also shared that the tribute song made by the team ‘KGF Chapter 2’ on Late Kannada Superstar Puneeth Rajkumar is also brilliant.

Thousands of moviegoers, from children to the elderly, have flocked to cinemas in Karnataka.

Tickets to all the shows have been sold out and the state is expected to remain gripped by the KGF Chapter 2 craze for a few more days. Celebrations of the film’s success have come to the fore in the state, relegating political and communal developments to the corner.

KGF airs in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam on over 12,000 screens across the world in 70 countries. The film is released in 550 cinemas in Karnataka alone.

Bollywood stars Raveen Tandon, Sanjay Dutt and Srinidhi Shetty are playing major roles with Rocking Star Yash.
