Mangaluru, July 29: As the PU result this time was very good, the demand for courses exploded. The University of Mangalore stands ready to increase places for courses that are in demand. As many people have obtained first class grades in the PU, they apply for places in degree courses.

Dakshina Kannada District PU School Principals Association President Dr Rajashekhar Hebbar said that anyone who wants to take degree courses will get them because there is a government decree that people pursuing courses graduates should have seats.

The Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) and Bachelor of Commerce degrees have been in high demand, according to the situation in colleges in the city. Canara College is preparing to launch two BCA classes. Even there is a demand for BCA in the Car Street government college here. At all of the private graduate colleges, places are full and students say they don’t have the right choice of combinations. BCom and BSc courses are also in demand, but only a few apparently take BA courses.

No less than 207 affiliated university colleges in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kodagu districts reopened earlier this week. Physical classes will start August 16 due to pending diploma exams.
