Gurugram, March 2 (IANS): A 44-year-old woman was found dead without any injury marks on her body on Wednesday morning in Kanhai village in Gurugram, police said.

Police recovered the body after being alerted by neighbors of the deceased about the incident.

Meanwhile, the woman’s partner, Surender, fled, prompting police to suspect his role in the incident.

The deceased, identified as Kamla, was from Delhi and lived with her partner and a son in rented accommodation in the village of Kanhai.

Police say her husband disappeared four years ago and since then she has been residing with Surender.

During their initial investigation, police received information from neighbours, who were alerted on Wednesday by the deceased’s son who was apparently not present at the home when the incident occurred.

Upon receipt of the information, a police team accompanied by a forensic team was dispatched to the scene to collect evidence for further investigation. Meanwhile, the body was sent for post mortem.

Initial investigations suggest the woman’s partner disappeared after her death, prompting police to suspect her role in the murder. The police launched a search operation to arrest him.

However, the police are investigating the case to determine the reason for the incident.

“In relation to the incident, an FIR has been registered against an unknown person. The cause of death will be known after an autopsy,” Gurugram police spokesman Subhash Boken told IANS.
