Get rid of all encroachments on government land – DC tells officials

Deputy Commissioner Avinash Rajendran Menon has ordered relevant officials to remove encroachments and proceed with setting boundaries on the land set aside for the proposed airport.

He was chairing a meeting in Raichur on Tuesday.

Dr Menon said land in Egunur and surrounding villages near Yermarus in Raichur taluk was acquired for the airport but according to preliminary reports some people have encroached on land within the village boundaries of ‘Egunur. Therefore, officials must eliminate encroachments and protect the land after setting the boundaries.

“We are expecting grants in the next annual budget for key projects, including the proposed airport. Therefore, officials should remove encroachments on government land and make it available for the project,” the deputy said. civil servants commissioner.

In response to him, officials said advisories have already been issued against such encroachments and they will clear them shortly. They also said that an investigation into the complaints related to the land for the IIIT project is ongoing and that they will dispose of all the complaints soon.
