New Delhi, March 24: A video has gone viral claiming Delhi police ordered hotels not to make reservations for people from Jammu and Kashmir.

This came in response to a viral video where a Srinagar resident who identified as Syed was refused a room he had booked through a website. In the video, the receptionist can be seen calling another person to ask what to tell the guest. The police said we couldn’t give rooms to J&K people, the receptionist said in the video recorded by the man himself.
The video went viral after national spokesperson for the J&K Student Association, Nasir Khuehami, shared the same on Twitter. He said that is the impact of The Kashmir Files movie on the ground.
Impact of #KashmirFiles on the ground. Hotel in Delhi denies accommodation to Kashmiri man, despite provided ID and other documents. Is being a Kashmiri a crime, he wrote on Twitter.

Delhi Police have taken to Twitter and said an alleged video is going viral on social media in which a person is denied a hotel booking because of their J&K ID. The reason for the cancellation is given under the direction of the police. It is stated that no such directive was given by the Delhi Police. The aggrieved person in the video while posting the same on YouTube said that they stayed in the same area at another hotel and that was a lame excuse given by the hotel. Some netizens are trying to discredit the image of the Delhi Police by deliberately distorting the circulating video, which may lead to criminal charges, Delhi Police said on Twitter.
