Bangalore, January 21: The state government does its duty in the form of “Trividha Dasoha” or three forms of charity or service such as providing Anna (food), Ashraya (shelter/housing) and Akshara (education) to the underprivileged sections of society .

Addressing media representatives on their way to participate in the ‘Dasoha Dina’ or day of service at Siddaganga Math in Tumakuru on Friday morning, he said, “Siddaganga Math heralded a culture of Dasoha (charity or service) in Karnataka. Sri Shivakumara Swamiji followed Basaveshwara’s ideals in letter and spirit. The state government has decided to celebrate Dasoha Day at Siddaganga Math.

“Our government is following the path indicated by the great seer. The quota of rice per head has been increased from 4 kg to 5 kg. Ragi and Jowar are also distributed according to the dietary habits of the region. The government has undertaken Vidya Dasoha (charitable organization for education) by providing scholarships for the children of construction workers and farmers. A massive housing project is underway. About 5,000,000 houses are being built,” Bommai said.

At Siddaganga Math, the Chief Minister offered puja at the seat of the late Sri Shivakumara Swamiji.

Minister of Law and Parliamentary Affairs JC Madhuswamy, Minister of Education BC Nagesh and others were present.

Responding to questions about the curfew controversy, the chief minister said the meeting with members of the expert committee later in the afternoon would decide whether the weekend curfew should continue.

Many legislators, deputies and organizations are ready to give their opinion on the matter. A proper decision would be made based on the views of experts and the trend of the current Covid third wave, Bommai said.

He said the meeting will also discuss the Covid situation in different districts as well as its impact on children in schools, boarding schools as well as hostels.
