Bangalore, November 29: By a notice published on Sunday, November 28, the Department of Health and Family Welfare advised daily screening all students in medical, paramedical and other educational institutions for symptoms of Covid19. The department’s principal secretary, TK Anil Kumar, said symptomatic people should be tested and treated according to current guidelines.
The government has advised to postpone all social and cultural events in educational institutions for two months. He also wants conferences, seminars, academic events, etc. in educational institutions are postponed as far as possible, or they are organized in hybrid mode with minimal physical presence with more people participating via virtual mode. School leaders have been urged to take the utmost care to ensure that appropriate Covid behavior is adopted within the campus, particularly when organizing events, if applicable.
Healthcare professionals have been advised to organize conferences, seminars, sessions, etc. virtually for a few more months so that a positive message can be passed on to professionals in other fields in the wider public health interest. Heads of educational institutions have been urged to ensure vaccination of students over the age of 18 and staff at the earliest.
