Assam Youth BJP Calls on Police to File Case Against Telangana CM

Guwahati, Feb. 17 (IANS): The BJP’s youth wing has filed a police complaint demanding action against Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for making comments on the surgical strikes against Pakistan, police said on Thursday.

A Guwahati Police official said a complaint had been received from the Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) at Bharalumukh Police Station, but had yet to be registered. Advocate Priyanku Pratin Parasor and Co-Legal Abhinaba Purkayastha on behalf of BJYM in their complaint said that on February 13, while addressing a public meeting in Raigiri of Yadagiri Bhuvanagiri District, the Minister in Chief of Telangana has made some comments against Indian Army regarding knocking surgery.

“He has made comments not only against the Indian Army but also against the Government of India in a very derogatory and degrading manner and such an act on his part is nothing but an act against the Government of India as well than against the Indian Army,” said the complaint.

The BJYM in its complaint said that Rao’s comment against the military and the government shows disrespect towards the sovereign institution of the country and by making such remarks he had tacitly supported Pakistan’s campaign and propaganda showing India in very bad taste and which also puts the Indian army in a very bad light not only in front of the Indian citizens but also in the eyes of the world.

The BJYM, which also submitted a compact disc containing the video clip with its complaint, urged the Assam police to carry out a full investigation and punish Rao in accordance with the law.
