3 missing UP girls found in Delhi, brought back by police

Lakhimpur Kheri, November 1 (IANS): Three schoolgirls, missing after their class on Saturday afternoon in the Nighasan district of Lakhimpur Kheri district (Uttar Pradesh), have been found in Delhi.

Chief Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vijay Dhull said on Monday the girls are studying at the same school and are from farming families.

He said: “The girls left for school around 9:15 am together on their bikes and later they disappeared. We recovered CCTV footage showing the girls parking their bikes and boarding a bus. They then reached a place where they took an electric rickshaw. and met someone. We managed to find the girls in Delhi. They are safe and have been brought back. “

He said during the preliminary questioning the girls said they were angry with their parents for trivial matters and had left home.

Police had posted photos of the missing girls on social media sites and set up four teams to find them.

An FIR was also registered in the IPC section for kidnapping since the three girls are 15 years old.

The girls carried a change of clothes in their satchels.

Earlier this year, three of Kheri’s friends were missing and were later found “on vacation” in Uttarakhand.
