Missing man found dead in a forest: murder suspected

Belthangadi: Decomposed body of a missing man has been found in a forest near Orekkala Maalige in Sulkeri village and it is suspected to be a case of murder. Jagadish Rao (37), of Padangadi Lingadoli of Gardadi village had been reported missing on February 10 and a case was registered at Belthangadi police station.
When few men of Sulkeri Mogru had gone on last Friday to forest, to find out why the flow of a stream is diminishing, they found the body of Jagadish, it is said. Jagadish is basically from Kadelu in Aladangadi and was looking after the agricultural land in Gardadi belonging to his wife. Besides this, he had also taken 3-4 gardens on lease.
He had left home on January 31, saying that he is going to fields, never to return. However, curious thing is his missing case was only registered on February 10, causing suspicion. He had demolished a ‘Naga Bana’ recently and was under depression after three days according to the statement given by his family to Police during investigation.
It is said that he had some dispute with his wife and they used to constantly quarrel. Now, the fact that his body was found near his wife’s house has raised many eyebrows. It is also suspected that he had financial transactions with several people, since he had taken several agricultural land on lease, and this could be the reason for his death.
